Inspect loose threads
Do not pull a loose embroidery thread. Keep the area from snagging and seek an appropriate repair if the stitching begins to open.
Reduce abrasion
Turn the garment inside out and wash it away from exposed hooks or zippers when the care label allows. A laundry bag can add separation for smaller pieces.
Press from the reverse
If ironing is permitted, work from the inside with low, appropriate heat and a protective cloth. Avoid flattening or dragging directly across the stitching.
