Check the construction
Read the care instructions and identify foam, coatings, electronics pockets or rigid panels. These features may rule out machine washing or soaking.
Clean high-contact areas
Wipe handles, shoulder straps, the base and interior pockets. Treat spills promptly and use only cleaners appropriate for the listed material.
Dry every compartment
Open all zippers and position the bag for airflow. Packing it away while any lining or seam remains damp can bring odors back quickly.
